You can enjoy the best of both worlds by revelling in both the beautiful historic 1928 building for your ceremony and post-ceremony drinks, and then the brand-new Convent Brewery for your fun-filled reception. Did we mention two-nights’ accommodation, sleeping up to 22 of your friends and family, is included in all packages? Because we are big believers in turning your wedding DAY into a whole wedding WEEKEND.

Whether an intimate micro-wedding or a lively cocktail celebration of up to 100, we will work with you to bring your unique vision to life.

Imagine exchanging vows in one of our five ceremony locations, within and surrounding the enchanting historical convent building. Hold an unforgettable ceremony in the thoughtfully-restored Chapel with beautifully intricate lead-light windows, in the landscaped front gardens under the grand front entrance or shade of the giant oak tree, in the courtyard overlooking the beautiful gardens and charming red bricks of the building, or in the ground floor original classroom basking in local history and natural light.

Then, toast to forever in our brand-new brewery, where delicious craft beers and local wines meet stunning vineyard views on our expansive deck. Delight your guests with our mouth-watering food, expertly prepared by our on-site chefs who will keep the flavours flowing all night. Did we mention the Margaritas? With a tequila selection rivalling our craft beer offerings, our expert team will help curate the perfect drinks list. When it’s time to hit the dance floor, our stage area awaits your chosen entertainment – from DJs to intimate duo’s to energetic 6-piece bands. As the night comes to an end, retreat next door to the convent building where you and your close ones can unwind in comfort and style.

Rutherglen Convent provides a unique space and location for Weddings and Private Functions. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on your needs.

Functions may utilise the entire building and grounds, including kitchen and accommodation facilities.

What a special and unique experience! A few friends and I stayed here for the Rutherglen Winery Walkabout and it was truly magnificent. Perfectly located with every amenity under the sun, we were well taken care of. A view from every angle it really felt like you were a part of history. We will be back next year!

I hired the place so that my children and grandchildren could all be in the one place. There were 12 kids and it was a great experience. The children loved it, the adults loved it and best of all there was always something happening somewhere. You get lost in the place. Its rare to find a building that will accommodate us all.

We're a mob of 16 friends who self-cater when we go away. The Convent was perfect for us. The facilities, both kitchen and dining, were perfect for cooking for a group, and long lazy meals. Bike riders, walkers golfers, wine tasters, it was all in easy distance. We had a lot of fun learning about the history, not just from the booklet but also chatting to the local priest just down the road. Many memories for those educated in the Catholic system, especially boarders! Great value and very comfortable, we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Had our wedding here on the weekend it was the perfect place for 2 families to come together under one roof. What an absolutely stunning venue. So many great photo opportunities and places to socialise.It has all the modern comforts and keeps its heritage charm.Gina and the team were amazing from the start with exceptional communication and understanding of what we wanted to achieve. They helped our wedding and weekend run perfectly and we can not be more grateful for the privilege of getting married here.

Beautifully restored as a B&B, Rutherglen Convent is the perfect setting for a a special event. I’m here today for a friend’s milestone weekend birthday party- the theme is all things roses 🌹 🥀Spacious yurts set up for weekend guests just steps from the convent’s kitchen. A bit drizzly today, but the convent offers lots of cover outdoors.The bedrooms are comfy, featuring queen-sized beds and a couple of bunk rooms. The shower and toilets are right down the hall!
